Basically, it is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, around 30,000 people attempt to conquer it every year. But among them, only two-thirds make it to the top. These stats of people making it to Kilimanjaro and back seems quite exciting. Whether you can make it or not, however, depends entirely upon your willingness and how you plan your Mount Kilimanjaro hike.
Anyone with a reasonable degree of fitness can climb Kilimanjaro, it is not a technical peak and does not require superhuman abilities to scale it. The secret is to use a longer route to aid in acclimatization!
On day 2, you will hike from Simba camp to the 2nd Cave 3450 metres above sea level for lunch. After lunch you will proceed with trekking until Kikelewa Camp. At Kikelewa Camp the view opens up to allow you to see the surrounding areas. You will have an overnight stay at Kikelewa Camp where you will be served with dinner.

Today’s destination will be a short but steep climb passing through the vegetation zone. After breakfast, you will leave Kilelewa Camp heading to Mawenzi Tarn where you will have a 4 to 5 hours hike.
Mawenzi Tarn is a very remarkable campsite. It is in a hollow under the shadows of the Mawenzi peak. On arrival at the camp, you will be served your lunch after which you will have time to relax.

Day 4 is meant for acclimatization. After breakfast, you will hike steadily for 3-4 hours covering about 4 kilometers up to Mawenzi edge.
Here you will enjoy fantastic views on both sides. The landscape is rugged and rocky. After spending a few moments exploring Mawenzi Ridge, you will head back to Mawenzi Tarn for an overnight stay. The acclimatization experience gained is necessary for a successful summit.

After breakfast, you will head west and continue ascending on the east side of Kibo Hut crossing the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The hike from Mawenzi to Kibo Hut will take 5 to 6 hours. On arrival at Kibo Hut, you will have your lunch then relaxing before early dinner.

After a cup of hot tea and a light snack, the climb begins around midnight when the lava ash is still frozen and walking on it is easier. it takes 5 to 7 hours up to the Uhuru peak. You will hike the screes of Kibo and you will arrive at Hans Meyer Cave (5,220 m).
Climbing is slowly but surely going upwards, At sunrise, you will reach Gilman’s Point (5,681 m) which is the crater rim of Mt Kilimanjaro then you will have 2 hours climb along the crater ridge that leads you to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).
You are now standing on the “Roof of Africa” and you will see Kilimanjaro in all its glory.
After enjoying at the Summit of the Mount Kilimanjaro you will descend to Horombo Hut where you will have hot lunch..
After relaxing during evening, you will have Dinner and Overnight at Horombo Hut

The final leg of your amazing adventure begins after breakfast with a traditional farewell ceremony from the mountain crew. It will take 4 to 5 hours from Horombo Hut (3,700 m) to Marangu Gate (1,860 m)).
After reaching the Kilimanjaro gate you will be signed out and awarded a golden certificate after reaching the Summit (Uhuru Peak). Ready for the next drive to Arusha
